This 2017 Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain really expresses what mountain fruit is all about: concentrated dark fruits of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, and plums are complimented with some nice earth, graphite and chocolate notes. The nose takes on a slightly more old world character but the palate allows the complexity and density of the fruit and to remind you that this is a Napa Cab. Medium acidity and tannins, along with a full body, provide for a balanced and smooth mouthfeel. The 2017 is drinking well at a young age, but probably peaks in another 5-7 years.
