The Loire Valley in France is known for world class Chenin Blancs! Chenin Blanc is used to make beautiful, dry summer white and sparkling wines. This particular producer also uses oak to age the wine, producing a style and flavor profile similar to some Chardonnays. Perfectly ripe orchard apples, peaches and apricots abound, along with lemon curd and honey dew melon. The body is slightly heavier at a medium+, with some nice acidity providing some structure to the wine as well. This wine will pair well with any food items that have a sweet and sour element. Southeast Asian cuisine and pork chops are a great match for the wine’s acidity and sweeter style. It will also pair well with any poultry and soft cheeses, such as brie and gruyere.
